ShortsAI is free: no plans, no payments, no watermark. The site is supported by ads.
Your videos and the clips made from them are yours. We never train AI on them. You must hold the rights to what you process.
The AI work runs under API keys you supply; those providers bill you directly, and several have free tiers.
1. Who we are and what this is
shortsai.app ("ShortsAI", "we", "us") is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. You can reach us at hello@shortsai.app. ShortsAI is a free online tool that turns long videos into short vertical clips, generates short marketing videos with AI actors, and produces YouTube thumbnails, titles and descriptions. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the website and the tool. By using shortsai.app you agree to them.
2. The service is free
ShortsAI has no paid plans, no subscriptions, no usage tiers and no watermarks. We do not sell anything on this site and we do not take payment details. The site is supported by advertising (see the Privacy Policy).
3. Your own API keys
The AI work is performed by third-party providers under keys that you supply in Settings: Google Gemini (required), and optionally ElevenLabs, fal.ai and Upload-Post. Those providers bill you directly according to their own terms, and some have free tiers. Keys you enter are encrypted and stored in your own browser; we do not store them on our servers beyond the duration of a processing job. You are responsible for the security of your keys and for any charges the providers make.
4. Your content and your responsibility
You keep all rights to the videos you upload or link and to the clips the tool produces from them. You must own the rights to every video you process, or have permission from the rights holder. Do not process content that infringes copyright, that you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful. You are the publisher of anything you post to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or elsewhere through the tool, and you are responsible for complying with those platforms' rules, including their rules on disclosing AI-generated content.
We never use your videos, clips or scripts to train AI models, and we do not claim any licence over them beyond what is needed to process them and return them to you.
5. Processing, retention and availability
Source videos and generated clips on the online version are stored only for as long as needed to process them and let you download them, after which they are deleted. Download anything you want to keep. The service is provided free and as is: we do not guarantee that it will be available at all times, that a given video will process successfully, or that the AI's choice of moments, captions or scripts will be accurate. Check the output before you publish it.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the tool to process content that is illegal, that sexualises minors, that harasses or defames real people, or that impersonates a real person without consent (including generating an AI actor from someone's likeness without their permission). Do not attempt to overload, scrape or attack the service. We may block usage that breaks these rules.
7. AI-generated content
Videos produced with the AI Shorts tool contain synthetic presenters and synthetic voices. Where a platform or a law requires AI-generated content to be labelled, you must label it. The AI actors in the gallery are synthetic and do not depict real people.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShortsAI is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the tool, from the content you process, from the output you publish, or from charges made by third-party API providers. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
