1. Summary
ShortsAI has no user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email or payment details to use the tool. What we process is the video you submit, for as long as it takes to make your clips, plus the ordinary technical data any website receives. The site shows advertising through Google AdSense, which uses cookies as described below.
2. Who is responsible

3. What we process and why
- Videos you upload or link. Processed on our server to transcribe, clip, caption and render them. Deleted after processing and the download window. Never used to train AI models.
- API keys you enter. Encrypted and stored in your own browser's local storage. They are sent to our server only to run your jobs and are not retained afterwards.
- Third-party AI providers. To process your video, parts of it (audio for transcription, transcript text for moment scoring, prompts for script or thumbnail generation) are sent to the providers whose keys you supply: Google (Gemini), ElevenLabs, fal.ai, and Upload-Post for publishing. Each processes that data under its own privacy policy.
- Server logs. IP address, browser type, requested URL and time, kept for a short period for security and to keep the service running.
- Preferences. Settings such as whether you have seen the landing page are stored in your browser's local storage, not on our server.
4. Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads, which is what keeps the tool free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent request before personalised ads are served. Google's use of advertising data is described in its partner sites policy.
Apart from advertising cookies, the site sets no tracking cookies of its own and uses no third-party analytics.
5. Legal basis and retention
We process your videos to provide the tool you asked for (performance of a contract, or consent where you upload). Server logs are processed in our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure. Advertising cookies are set on the basis of consent where the law requires it. Videos and clips are deleted after processing; logs are kept for no more than 30 days.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we hold no account data, in most cases the only personal data we can hold about you is a server log entry. Write to hello@shortsai.app and we will respond within one month.
7. Children
The tool is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly process their data.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top of the page shows the current version.
